The giant blizzard beginning to hammer the Northeast could dump three feet of snow across the area in a matter of hours. The National Weather Service in Massachusetts advises everyone in the region to get “Wherever you need to get to, get there by Friday afternoon, and don’t plan on leaving”.

The new super-storm, bringing a mountain of snow and winds, which are expected to reach 75 mph, is set to wreak havoc on the area smashed by Sandy just last fall. Experts are warning of flooding and power outages in the Sandy ravaged coastal area and forecasters are predicting this could be among the top ten snowstorms in history.

Connecticut’s Governor, Dan Malloy, has already declared a state of emergency and ordered residents off the roads beginning at noon Friday.

Obviously school is being cancelled for many in the Northeast with blizzard warnings issued or New Jersey, Long Island, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and even Maine and New Hampshire.

Airlines who have learnt to be more proactive have already cancelled over 3,700 flights and numerous New England airports are already closing down including Boston’s Logan, and all three of New York’s main airports.
