Small Businesses, Technology, MobileSome small U.S. businesses are set to experience massive growth in revenues this year. What do they know that the rest don’t and how have they equipped themselves to grow so fast in these lean times?

According to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) 38% of the nation’s small businesses expect their firms will grow this year and are bullish on the outlook for their futures. This is despite NSBA’s latest Economic Report showing 86% of small businesses believe the American economy will be flat or worse in 2013. Perhaps that 38% know something the rest don’t?

Mobile devices are set to outnumber people by end of year with 10 billion plus of them in the hands of consumers. However, most of these will most likely surface overseas. Geeks and tech startups need recognize the need and advantage of being positioned and equipped to do business globally. Our unemployment levels are still ugly but abroad they are still very low in English speaking markets like Canada and Australia. That means more spending in these countries.

American Express revealed that in Australia businesses were 33% more likely to be profitable if they were online. This is certainly part due to Google Australia research which showed that 40% of shopping searches occurred on mobile devices. Plus those who rely more on cloud computing, remote workers, and virtual phone systems can slash overhead and boost profit margins.

What many might not know is that both Canada and Australia among others are facing massive shortages of IT staff and tech service providers. These means those with the skills in demand can write their own paychecks. Any U.S. based business providing online marketing, tech support, and especially mobile app development can enjoy massive growth and profits by tapping these markets.

However, just throwing up a site and saying you’ll serve these markets isn’t enough. You need content which will attract these businesses and writers that can adapt to them as well as toll free numbers that provide the credibility, access, and can be answered in line with business in these time zones to grab new clients and market share.

While their mobile and Internet usage may be booming and your services needed, these are often business owners and Chief Technology Officers that prefer talking by phone to vet new services, make sure they are a good fit and close the deal.

Vanity numbers are ideal for capitalizing on these opportunities and can help you boost your visibility and credibility in the U.S. and abroad simultaneously. Do you have yours yet?
